Radon is a naturally occurring, colorless, odorless radioactive gas. Science lesson aside, Radon Recordings is the recording studio love child of Steve Seachrist and Katie Butler. We select projects based on aesthetics and availability. We introduce musicians to each other and hope to pull unexpected results out of great beginnings. Steve started recording music about 30 years ago in Tampa, Florida. Katie has been a musician and singer since childhood. In the studio she co-pilots the recording process and arranges musical parts and vocal harmonies.

Today’s music streaming reality is begging for a fresh approach to both recording and distributing music. That is why we created our Singles Series. Its goal is to open the door for artists by eliminating financial barriers and opening new, direct streams of revenue. To accomplish this goal, Radon Recordings does not charge for studio hours or labor. We record and mix one song at a time for the Singles Series and post the song to streaming platforms. We only ask that fans and supporters consider making a small donation that is divided between the artist and the studio.

As of 2026, Radon Recordings has three vinyl albums for sale!

The first is a collection of ten songs recorded by James Hall over the course of recent years that have been re-worked at Radon Recordings. It is titled Borrowed Soul after one of these songs. The idea was to feature songs that highlighted James’ soul and gospel influences, while adding classic keyboard sounds and re-mixing to complement the vintage vibes.

We’ll ship you one of these babies for $30 postpaid anywhere in the US. Email orders to steven.seachrist@gmail.com. (Please put the title of the album in the email subject line.) Venmo @Steven-Seachrist.

The second album is by the band fronted by Katie and Steve called Former Sinners of the Future. The album is titled Each Body a Soul, after a line in one of their songs. It is a collection of ten songs, nine of which are originals. It is rock music with a hint of garage, and we think you need to hear it.

This one is available for $25 postpaid anywhere in the US. Email orders to steven.seachrist@gmail.com. (Please put the title of the album in the email subject line.) Venmo @Steven-Seachrist.

The third album is by longtime Radon Recordings collaborator Jeremy Ray. It consists of songs he started working on about ten years ago and through a final, concerted effort completed in 2025. It is called Lost In Cabbagetown, for obvious reasons.
